Dr. Irl Hirsch, professor (Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition) was presented with the Jeff Hitchcock Distinguished Service Award from Children with Diabetes at the Friends for Life Conference in Orlando. He was selected for his life-long commitment to people with diabetes and their families, for his courage in publicly confronting challenges that are obstructing optimal care delivery, and for his generosity in sharing his decades of personal and professional wisdom and knowledge with families over many years.
